Abnak Music Enterprises was founded by John H. Abdnor to help his son's musical interests, The son, John Howard Abdnor, Jr., also known as Jon Abnor, later became part of the duo Jon & Robin. But the company soon grew bigger, when they signed the Five Americans. Abnak Music Enterprises included the Abnak and Jetstar labels.
