Johnny Ace
Born: June 9, 1929, Memphis Tennessee.
Died: December 25, 1954.

One of the more tragic 50's R&B heroes. Mostly remembered for his hit 'Pledging My Love', released late 1954. On Christmas eve that year, Johnny was playing Russian Roulette backstage at the City Auditorium in Houston, and accidently shot himself. In the wake of his death 'Pledging My Love' hit number 17 on the Billboard charts in 1955.
